Acute Psychiatric Receiving Services 24-hour a day, 7 days a week, short term, intensive inpatient treatment to patients admitted from one of any mental health regions in the hospital catchment area. Comprised of 3 phases- 1. Observation & stabilization. 2. Therapy processes & dual diagnosis. 3. Discharge planning & community awareness.
Adult Continuing Care Unit Provides individualized services for seriously mentally ill male and female patients over the age of 18 whose symptoms have not stabilized and who may require longer periods of treatment prior to release.
Division of Community Services Provides a continuum of programs to educate and assist adult psychiatric patients to function more independently in the community. This division includes the following programs:
Adult Group Homes: provide supervised living in home-like settings. Emphasis is placed on normalization and residents enjoy the recreational and leisure activities of the community and have the support of staff to improve their daily living and coping skills. 9 different locations.
*EMSH does not accept group home residents that are not already receiving treatment from EMSH.
Friendship Center Sponsored by EMSH and the Mental Health Association in Lauderdale County, the center offers outpatient, day care and drop-in services to mental health clients living in the community and to the homeless mentally ill. |
